About

margaret When writing a bio, I always wonder, "What does anyone really want to know about me? — The circumstances of my idyllic childhood? The early resolve to become a writer, as demonstrated by the darling little stories I once composed? The stacks of awards I accumulated after proving my mettle?" Maybe. But I'm afraid none of that's true. (Except the idyllic childhood, of course — "Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!")

The reality is that I never planned on becoming a professional writer. I studied acting in college, went to law school with the idea of saving the world, and wound up amidst the machinations of Wall Street.

I eventually came to realize that the through-line was words. On the stage, in the courtroom, or in a fancy boardroom on the Street, effective communication was what was needed and what I was able to provide. I had, albeit circuitously, finally found my bailiwick.

That happy epiphany happened quite a while ago. Since then, my work has spanned a broad range of subjects, styles, and mediums. Kinda like my life.

Having worked with Meg both as a colleague and as a consultant, it is my great pleasure to recommend her as a most accomplished and nuanced writer and editor. She is a true master of the English language across a multitude of disciplines ranging from the literary, to finance and law, to scientific treatises, and beyond. I've always enjoyed her professionalism coupled with wit and acuity.

Her wide-ranging expertise in many fields informs her writing, and her editorial judgment is impeccable. She's big-hearted, as savvy as they come, and has a fine sense of humor — traits that make it a joy to work with her.

It has been my pleasure to both recommend and work with Margaret on a number of projects that include a lengthy editorial assignment for ClubMom.com and copywriting for Lincoln Center. Margaret's editorial instincts are flawless and she nimbly approached such diverse subjects as postpartum depression and postmodern jazz with equal facility. She is knowledgeable on a broad range of subjects, is resourceful, and a personable and generous colleague — in short, a great catch.
